Marquette Third Graders Learn About Water Quality on the Shores of Lake Superior

Who knew that blowing bubbles could be science? Last spring, this third grade class taught by Anne Girard at Graveraet Elementary School in Marquette, Michigan spent the day visiting Lake Superior and the Lakeview Arena Storm Drain. City of Marquette water treatment operators and educators from Superior Watershed Partnership helped guide the students as they conducted pH studies on the two water bodies. This video celebrates the educational value of connecting to place in education, students doing hands on experiments, and making learning fun.
