MichiganGREEN
This group of energy companies and energy consultants, together with government agencies and schools, colleges, and universities, has joined forces to champion the cause of renewable energy and energy efficiency in Michigan. The expertise of the Michigan GREEN collaboration, will mark an important step forward in Michigan's effort to become America's epicenter for alternative energy development. Michigan GREEN grew out of an energy program that began four years ago. In 2002, the M-TEC at Bay College submitted a grant proposal to the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) to establish a revolving loan program for energy efficiency projects at schools and local governments. Now, three grants (totaling $2.95 million) and forty eight energy projects later, the M-TEC at Bay College has ended its Northern Lights Energy Program (NLEP).

The Voelker Foundation
John Voelker lived his life as most of us wish we could -- on his own terms. He was a renowned novelist and outdoor writer, an eminent member of the bench and bar, and a skilled fly fisherman. Author of 11 books (and a 12th posthumous book, Traver on Fishing) and numerous stories, including Anatomy of a Murder, a Michigan Supreme Court Justice who wrote over 100 finely crafted opinions, and self-proclaimed "U.P. Cribbage Champ," John Voelker made many contributions that live on today. The Foundation's mission is to pay tribute to John Voelker, the ideals for which he stood, and the values that his life and writings exemplified. Our three principal initiatives include: 1) The Native American Scholarship Program 2) The Robert Traver Fly Fishing Fiction Award 3) The Trout Habitat Program
